Dimapur, July 10 (EMN): Public Action Committee (PAC) has reaffirmed on October 31, 2013, public resolution for “One government, one tax” and to restrict all forms of collection/ multiple taxations/ syndicate and dealership fees within Dimapur district which are being randomly collected by agencies or in the name of Underground Groups causing untold harassment to business community and giving way to price rise in the market.
PAC, who comprised of Naga Council Dimapur, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur, Urban colony Chairmen Federation, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Dimapur Sardar GBs’ Union and 19 tribal hoho presidents, has taken this resolution during its meet on July 10 at Naga Council office. The members deliberated on exorbitant and random collection in the name of tax collection prevailing in and around Dimapur, a joint press release issued by PAC convenor Vekhosayi Nyekha and the co-convenor K Ghokheto Chophy stated.
The house also appealed to all Naga political groups to restrain from all forms of collection within Dimapur district and to uphold their declaration to cease tax collection.
The house called upon all NPGs to unify under one platform to pave way for an early solution on the prolonged Naga political issues and also deliberate to work out a means on the symbolic ration collection as practised earlier.
It further appealed to the competent authority in the district to be vigilant and to take needful action in curbing antisocial element prevailing in and around Dimapur
