DIMAPUR — The Act of Kindness Society will organise a three-day certification workshop on barista skills training from November 24 to the 26th at Coffeelady Roastery and Brews, Kuotsu Complex, near Co-operative Bank, Medziphema town.
According to an update, the training will be conducted by Atsi Jamir, SCA certified barista professional, from 10 am to 4 pm.
According to the organisers, lodging and food will be provided during the workshop. There will be limited seats, and scholarship opportunities will be available for deserving applicants.
To be considered for a full scholarship, applicants should have completed at least Class 12 and email actofkindness.dimapur@gmail.com with a brief statement describing “why you believe you deserve this opportunity and how receiving it will support your goals or development”. Selected applicants will be announced via email on November 16.
The Act of Kindness Society stated that the training programme aims to empower young people through professional barista training that combines technical expertise with entrepreneurial insight, enabling them to create livelihoods, open cafés, and uplift the community.
The vision of the programme is “to brew opportunity, one skill at a time, creating a generation of youth who are not just employable but entrepreneurial”.

The objectives of the programme are to equip young entrepreneurs with barista skills, to create pathways for self-employment and job creation in the coffee and hospitality sectors, to foster innovation, creativity, and customer service excellence in café management, and to promote sustainable youth empowerment through skill-based learning.
The three-day workshop will feature intensive practical training and certification, providing participants with a Barista Skills Training Certificate. Modules will include coffee fundamentals and brewing techniques, espresso extraction, latte art and beverage presentation, customer experience and café management, as well as internship opportunities.
