Haralu who is also the director of the Path Finder, said that ‘we talk about being discriminated outside the state but it is an ignorant fact that we discriminate our own people back at home in the state.’Haralu was addressing the Dimasa Students’ Union Nagaland felicitation programme as a resource person at DBIDL Hall, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Dimapur on July 14. The programme was held under the theme “The higher the obstacles, the higher we get to rise.” A press release received here on Sunday informed.She maintained that one must know his / her root, history and culture. Due to ignorance of one’s root, she said ‘we face identity crisis today. One should accept the truth and honestly embrace one’s one identity, she asserted. Haralu said parents can and should act as counsellors for their children. Another resource person, Humi Thaosen, asst. professor of Guwahati University in Assam, in her address said that parents have equal share in uplift of the students. She emphasized on being competitive and optimistic and not to be carried away by negativity. Students should not confine to only one career option but encourage to master on many subjects for more opportunities, she encouraged for research studies. She also shared how to balance one’s interest and abilities. Speeches were also delivered by S.K Khemprai, advisor DSUN; Kumar Naben, president of Dimasa Public Organisation Nagaland; Devojit Naben, president of Dimasa Lairidim Mel Nagaland; and Moromi Hojai, president of All Dimasa Women Welfare Society Nagaland. Chakesang Students’ Union Dimapur, Team Clean Dimapur, CAN Youth, Dimasa Students’ Association Karbhi Anglong and Young People’s Fellowship also attended the event.
