Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio said that all achievements begin with unity and public participation. He also asked the students to work hard, and encouraged them to take part in sports and games, music and other activities.
The former chief minister said this that while inaugurating the new building of Phom Lempong School in the presence of S. Pangnyu Phom, MLA at Phom Lempong Nyenching Longleng on June 4.
Addressing the gathering, Rio expressed his happiness over the construction of new school building and lauded the Phom Baptist Church Association and building construction committee for taking initiative in the construction and other development activities in the area.
The chief guest said that all achievements begin with unity and public participation. He also asked the students to work hard, and encouraged them to take part in sports and games, music and other activities.
The Phom Lempong School is the first English medium school established in 1970 and one of the oldest schools under Longleng district. The school is run by the Phom Baptist Christian Association.
Meanwhile, Rio also visited the Orphan Hostel at Phom Lempong.
Short speeches were delivered by DC Longleng, Nikhashe Sema, Rev. Dr. Anjo Keikung, chairman, Construction Committee and Leisha Phom, president PPC.
The programme was chaired by assisitant teacher of Phom Lempong School, Chumei while welcome address was delivered by executive secretary PBCA, Nuklu Phom. Invocation by Paushen Phom, former executive secretary PBCA and vote of thanks by headmaster of Phom Lempong School, Chingdam Phom. Benediction was pronounced by Angphen, women secretary, PBCA.
