DIMAPUR, JULY 21
THE ACAUT Nagaland today issued a press release seeking the NSCN (IM) to explain how the outfit has come to utilize the services of a suspected illegal immigrant. The release states it is “confused as to how the NSCN (IM) can still utilize the services of suspected illegal immigrants as this goes against the very grain of ‘National Principles’”. The release refers to the NSCN (IM) authorizing one Hashim to collect tax under “flying business” for the fiscal year 2013-14 by DG Robert, Secretary, Ministry of Chaplee Affairs.
ACAUT says the incident is a “matter of shame for all Nagas”. The NSCN (IM) has been requested to “clarify on this matter since Hashim is also suspected to be a member of their Civil setup”.
ACAUT Nagaland has sought the information on the exact status of “flying business” that “warrants an illegal immigrant to collect tax on behalf of Naga political groups”, the release adds. The release lauds the DC of Dimapur Hushili Sema as Chairperson of Dimapur District Planning Development Board (DPDB) for declaring not to pay to tax to any NPGs. ACAUT Nagaland has again requested the government departments and HODs to “emulate the stand of the DC, Dimapur”.
The release is optimistic that DPDB of other districts will be able to do likewise moreso “since any departmental deductions, including salary deduction is illegal and only encouraging factionalism in the movement”, it adds.
