Dimapur, Feb. 1: ACAUT Nagaland in a press release issued through its Media Cell, stated that the issue of Urban Local Body (ULB) election has taken a turn for the worst, forever etching a dark scar in the history of the Nagas, for the manner in which the whole issue handled by the state government is totally condemnable.
It also stated that the final treacherous act of breaking the January 30 agreement inked with the JCC in the presence of NBCC by the Government of Nagaland can only be summed up as anti-Naga. ACAUT condemned such anti-Naga activities, by going against the voice of the Nagas and further risk jeopardizing the sanctity of Article 371(A).
Meanwhile, ACAUT Nagaland extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the two victims and prays that the Almighty God assuage their unbearable pain. It also prays for the speedy and complete recovery of those who have been injured.
ACAUT opined that considering the turns of events leading to the death of two innocent lives, the Government of the day has lost all credibility and should step down both on moral grounds and for the complete breakdown of constitutional machinery in the state.
