As decided, the ACAUT Nagaland team along with “committed individuals” of approximately 70 members will be undertaking a walk from Dimapur (Chumoukedima ) to Kohima over two days, (October 30 and 31) under the theme “Walk Against Corruption.”
The flagging off of the programme will be held at Chumoukedima at 8 am. Invocation will be given by Rev. Lhouzoviu Shuya, Pastor Chumoukedima Village. Flag off by Razouvotuo Chatsu ,Chairman, Chumoukedima village. At 12 noon there will be an interaction interval with Medziphema Town People’s Organisation, elders, youths, women and the general public at Medziphema Town for 10 minutes. At 2 pm the marchers will have lunch at Pherima followed by interaction with community leaders. They will then halt at Piphema for the night.The following day, i.e. on October 31 the marchers will interaction with Piphema Village Councils, leaders and the general public from 5 am and leave the village by 6 am.
They will then try to reach Sechu-Zubza by 10 am and interact with the village council, elders, youths and the public. On the day the marchers will try to reach War Cemetary, Kohima by 2 pm. A short programme will be conducted at War Cemetary. Thereafter, the gathering will march to Raj Bhavan for submission of petition. Apex hoho leaders of all the tribes in Kohima, leaders of chamber of commerce, ward/colony leaders, GB fraternity, trade union leaders, business leaders, contractors’ fraternity, church leaders, social media admins, leaders of youth organisations, college students, high school students, educated unemployed youths, apex women hoho leaders, leaders of all the mass-based organisations, and the general public are all requested to be part of the walk to Raj Bhavan.
“As the participants march for Kohima, publicly spirited individuals are welcome to show their solidarity and join the team at any point along the route,” ACAUT said.
