Abiogenesis along with artistes from northeast performed at Thimpu, Trongsa and Gedu in
Bhutan to commemorate the 50 years of Bhutan/India Diplomatic Relations.
A press release issued by one of its members on March 2 mentioned that the first show was held at the Royal University of Bhutan on Feb. 24 in presence of Jaideep Sarkar, Indian Ambassador to Bhutan along with some Union Cabinet Ministers of Bhutan.
The second is said to have been held at the College of Language & Cultural Studies in Taltse at Trongsa while the third at the Indian Dam Construction Camp in Trongsa and culminated at Gedu College of Business Studies in the presence of Pieyush Guptam, Indian Consul General to Bhutan, Phuentsholing.
The colourful and vibrant culture of the Northeast India was articulated through the bamboo dance
of Mizoram, folk and martial arts of Manipur, Bihu dance of Assam, Acrobatic Hozagiri Dance of Tripura,
Songs of Arunachal Pradesh and folk music of Meghalaya. The modern section was showcased through Naga Howeymusic by Abiogenesis of Nagaland and western music by Bhooma & Band of Mizoram.
The Bhutan tour is said to have been initiated by The Regional Director, Shillong ICCR Regional Office.
The first three shows were said to have been organised by Nehru Wangchuk Centre, Thimpu and the fourth show by the Indian Consulate, Phuentsholing.
The touring team was sponsored by NEC, Shillong.
