Dimapur, July 24 (EMN): The Angami Baptist Church Council on Monday made an appeal to the voters and candidates to abide by the call for clean elections and the laid down election rules for the forthcoming Northern Angami I A/C by-election.
A press statement by the Co-Convenor Rev. Vicavor Krose of the ABCC Clean Election Core Committee stated that, "The Angami Baptist Church Council Clean Election Core Committee do hereby appeals to both the candidates and party agent in Northern I Assembly Constituency in the coming Bye- Election to follow the clarion call of clean election and also to strictly abide by the rules laid down in the representation of peoples act and the guideline given in the model code of conduct under Election Commission".
The apex Baptist church body of the Angami Nagas also asked the voters to refrain from malpractices like, 'selling of vote in exchange of money, proxy voting, booth capturing and any other means of violence and offences'. It also appealed to the voters to make the by-election as 'a good model for all the other constituencies' especially for the fast approaching Assembly election which is due in early 2018.
It stated if one is a concerned citizen 'Let your vote be Clean.'
