Dimapur, Jan. 31: The Ao Baptist Church Association (ABAM) has appreciated the initiative taken by NBCC as mediator between the government of Nagaland and JCC in signing the joint agreement at Chumukedima on January 30 last.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the ABAM stated: “However, in the light of the latest development concerning the request of NBCC to postpone the ULB election in Nagaland, ABAM hereby expresses its displeasure in the strongest sense against the government’s non-compliance with the people’s request made and failure to fulfil its assurance.
“It also expresses its remorse on the government’s adamant move to conduct the elections in places it deems safe by dividing Nagaland electorate ABAM hereby appeals to the government of Nagaland to listen to the voice of the people to ensure that peace and harmony prevails.”
