AB Mathur meets Thadou student leaders

Dimapur, May 3 (EMN): The interlocutor of the ongoing tripartite talks between Government of India and Suspension of Operation (SoO) groups (KNO and UPF), AB Mathur, Retd IPS, met the leaders of the Thadou Students' Association (TSA) at Hotel Imphal in Imphal on May 1. Dr. S. Ibocha Singh, Retd IPS, representative of Manipur government was also present at the meeting. While appreciating the endeavour and initiative of Mathur in engaging with the civil society organisations for fruitful talks with the SoO groups, the student leaders apprised him of the need for an early political solution. Enlightening the interlocutor of the cause of TSA and its contributions to the society, TSA leaders sought his cooperation and support on various crucial issues. After the interaction for a couple of hours, the meeting ended with an encouraging message from the interlocutor highlighting that TSA being a pressure group should work beyond Thadou community for peace and development in Manipur, a statement from the student body said.
