Kohima, Oct. 29 (EMN): The Alumni Association of St. Joseph's College (AASJC), Jakhama, will celebrate its silver jubilee on November 18 on the theme "Igniting oneness."
Briefing media persons on Saturday, the association president, I Yanger Imchen, informed that the 25th anniversary would be organised to honour its pioneers which was formed on November 8, 1997.
Kiviboto Sheqi, convenor of the jubilee planning committee, has invited all the past students to the celebration. He informed that a formal programme has been scheduled in the morning at the college indoor stadiumm while a basketball match would be played between the alumni basketball team and the present college team.
Meyisul Thaprii, advisor of the alumni association, informed that they would be represented by the 2003 college team, which represented the college in the Nagaland University basket tournament in the match against the present college team.
Thaprii, who will be captaining the alumni's side, informed that they have set aside cash awards for both the men's and women's winning teams.
Acknowledging Rev. Fr. Dr. George Keduolhou Angami, the college’s principal for allowing them to hold the event, Sheqi apprised that the present students as well as the college management would also partake in the occasion.
Founding member and the first president of alumni association, Kezhokhoto Savi, related an accounts on how they formed the association after conceptualising their motto, theme and objectives. He informed that they are observing the silver jubilee on November 18 instead on its foundation day due to time constraints.
Dr. Medonuo Pienyii, co-convenor of jubilee planning committee, informed that the alumni meet-cum-25th anniversary would celebrated on the banner "We all takes different paths in life but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere."
