Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN): The 32nd annual meet of Ato Area Sports Association (AASA) got underway on Monday at Nikhekhu village with President of Dimapur District GBs’ Association Tokuho Suhoi Neho gracing the opening function as the chief guest.
Speaking during the opening ceremony the chief guest said “to win” is the most of every sports person but winning without discipline is of no value and therefore a sports person should maintain utmost discipline both on and off the field/arena.
Stating that discipline is the most important aspect in the life of an individual who aims to achieve higher goals, he encouraged the participants to remain focused to what they want to achieve in life as sports person and thus bring laurel to their respective villages. He also called upon the people to do away with isms and to make Nagaland a better place for younger generations to live in.
The 32nd GBs’ Football Trophy, 29th late Nikhekhu and late N. Yihoto Zhimo Memorial Volleyball Trophy (men & women) and 4th Shekuto Suu Memorial Badminton Trophy (men & women) will be played during the course of the five day event. The meet will conclude on Nov. 25.
