Dimapur, June 22: A team of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from Nagaland unit led by the State Convener Dr. Amos Longkumer extended primary relief to the people affected by water logging in Railway area of Manipuri basti by distributing drinking water, provisions such as rice, vegetables, eggs, potatoes, salt, oil, dal, etc. and medicines.
The team also interacted with the affected people to get firsthand ground information of the real situation and took part in opening of blocked and damaged drainage works conducted with the help of the local people.
Aids materials were sponsored by party workers, whole sellers and well-wishers in and around Dimapur.
During such acute phase of emergencies, the party go into immediate action with the cooperation of the local population to first control and help the affected population and later do a ground study with consultation of the people of the area to rebuild the area and community and chart out a plan to improve water supply, sanitation and reconstruction of their damaged houses and restore their normal life and livelihood.
It said the party would submit detailed report to the district administration and the State government requesting them to go in further immediate relief works and rehabilitation of the affected public and reopening and rebuilding the damaged and blocked drainage in the area.
