Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): Aam Admi Party (AAP) Nagaland unit has squarely blamed the negligence of State government and the district administration for the collapse of bridge over Chathe River on July 11, which claimed four lives.
AAP convenor Dr. S Amos Longkumer lashed out at the indifferent attitude of the government despite complaints lodged by the Dhansiri River Flood Control Board since 2015.
As per first hand information, Dr. Amos said Rs 37.66 crore was sanctioned to construct new RCC Girder bridge. However, the work has not been implemented which affected the livelihood of more than 60 villages.AAP has also blamed the district administration for the loss of lives in allowing even light vehicles to ply over the weak bridge. It was informed that the district administration had neglected the concern raided by the Dhansiri River Flood Control Board and the citizens of the area to look into the condition of the bridge at the earliest.
AAP has strongly condemned the current government for failing to look into the urgent needs of the citizens. The party urged the government to respond to the demands and appeals of the citizens within 15 days.
