Dimapur, May 17 :In a low key affair, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Nagaland was launched today at Hotel Acacia Dimapur in the presence of AAP National Executive Committee member and observer North Eastern States, Habung Payeng.
Addressing the media persons, Habung Payeng remarked that with the party doing well so far, the party was committed towards taking up issues related to the people of Nagaland. “AAP builds leaders and not looks for leaders” said Payeng.
AAP spokesperson Lemwang Chuhwanglim articulated that the launching of AAP party in the state is one of the greatest achievements of young people. In a state where people talk only of issues instead of tackling them, AAP he said, will let people see what and how much party does for the state.
Conveying that the party will not allow any opportunistic individual into the party fold, he said the AAP in Nagaland will focus on young people with no vested interest and political background.
“We are looking for new bottle of water with new water who will work with determination and commitment” said Chuhwanglim.
Citing the present political scenario of Nagaland, Payeng stated that in a democratic society, there should be a healthy opposition. Hitting at the Congress workers who merged with the state government, Payeng criticized the politicians of jumping for personal interest.
The AAP’s first and foremost objective will be on the education of the rights of the people as many are not aware of their rights and schemes which are enjoyed by the upper hand, stated the party workers. The party hoped that with the launch of AAP, they would live up to the expectations of AAP central.
