
Dignitaries and members of Kachari Tribal Council on the
concluding day of the three-day Aai Sagi Mini Hornbill Tribal Festival at
Kushiabill Darogajan village, Dimapur.
- DIMAPUR — The
three-day Aai Sagi Mini Hornbill Tribal Festival 2025, organised by the Mech
Kachari Public Organisation (MKPON), culminated on Wednesday.
- Held at the Kachari Community Playground in Kushiabill
Darogajan village, Dimapur, the festival showcased the rich heritage and
traditions of the Mech Kachari community under the aegis of the Department of
Tourism and the Kachari Tribal Council, stated a press release.
- On the third day, Pranjue Mech, president of MKYFN,
delivered the welcome address. The special guest for the day was Dhananjay
Basumatari, retired chief engineer, Department of Power.
- The programme featured cultural displays by the cultural
troupes of Naharbari and Kushiabill. The festival also included a short speech
by Sukhonlal Langthasa, vice president of KTCN, who shared insights on the
significance of preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
- In the afternoon session, prizes for the Aai Sagi Sports
Meet 2025 were distributed. The festival concluded with words of gratitude delivered
by Devopotin Mech, president of MKSUN.
