Aadhaar-SIM linking is free: NSF

Dimapur, Sep. 19 (EMN): The Naga Students Federation on Tuesday stated that the linking of Aadhar to SIM cards is free of cost and informed the public to lodge complaint with the federation if anyone is taking charge for the service. A press note from the Chairman Public grievances Cell of the NSF stated that "It is to inform the general public that, the NSF visited the telecom service providers in the state and is being authenticated that, the linking of Aaadhar card to SIM card is free of cost." It also stated that it however learned that some agencies and retailers are charging for the service provided and therefore in the interest of the general public the Federation appeal to the consumers not to pay any amount as the service is free of cost. It also warned that any agencies or retailers found practising such "fraudulent activities" will be dealt with befittingly". "In the event of such malpractices the general public may lodge their detail complaints to the NSF office or any of the NSF federating Unit offices," it further stated.
