DIMAPUR — The
Directorate of School Education has, in a notification, informed all the school
authorities, both government and private, that Aadhaar has become mandatory for
availing government schemes such as stipends, scholarships, APAAR ID, student
PEN in UDISE+ etc.
It, therefore, directed the school authorities to identify
school children without Aadhaar cards and prioritise their enrollment to avoid
any disruption in the benefits provided by the government schemes. It would
facilitate seamless implementation of the schemes and help students access the
necessary financial aid and resources for their education.
It mentioned that the UIDAI, Government of India, has
authorised the Department of School Education to conduct Aadhaar enrollment of
school children at the block level, making the facility easily accessible to
the community. It added that most of the Educational Block Research Centres
(EBRC) in the state are equipped with Aadhaar enrollment kits for the
convenience of school children.
Further, schools are advised to utilise the facilities at
EBRC and organise enrollment camps within school premises to support the
Aadhaar registration process.
