Deeply saddened by the passing of Adino Phizo, President of the Naga National Council (NNC).
Following the passing of her father, AZ Phizo, who firmly opposed the 1975 Shillong Accord and refused to engage in dialogue with the Government of India under its terms, she was unanimously elected President of the NNC in May 1990.
For more than 36 years, she carried the weight of a profound national legacy, standing steadfast in her convictions and dedicating herself to the cause she inherited.
