My deep study and constant analysis the present Naga political scenario makes me more comfort than ever before as positive move is seen in every Naga for realisation of what gone wrong in the world of Naga pilitics. And it is for all different Naga political groups to reason together why and how in the past and put constant efforts to create better future.
The Naga people have witnessed different charges in Naga politics right from 1960’s to these present days given enough lessons for further study. The vertical division among the rank and file of undivided NNC on the issue of 16thpoints agreement and Shillong Accord of 1975 gave birth to NSCN in 1980 but it further splited only after eight years of its formation only on suspicion and lack of confidence.
This splited in undivided NSCN created two different NSCN organisations i.e NSCN (IM) an NSCN (K). The further unrest and disunity within NSCN (IM) was witnessed in October 2007 where host of kilonsers, hundreds armed cadres led by Mr.Azeto the then Kilo Kilonser broken away from its main stream which ultimately amalgamated with NSCN (K). Another unrest gradually took its shape within NSCN (K) and ultimately erupted on 7thJune 2011 where 99% of NSCN workers from India side led by the then C-in-C General Khole and former AtoKilonserN.Kitovi unanimously expelled S.S.Khaplang Chairman NSCN (K) for his arrogance and one man dictatorial character.
The work of Gen. Kholi and N.Kitoviwas so successful that, they could manage to gain allegiance of all the NSCN workers of India side towards them. Only I Wangtin Naga from Nagaland State left with SS.Khaplang supported by P.Tikhak of Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.Today, entire Nagaland-Haflong of Assam, Taminglong-Senapati-Chandel of Manipur Naga areas and Tirap-Changlang-Longding of Arunachal Pradesh of Naga areas could have been under BabaSS.Khaplang had he accept even quarter of our suggestions and advices but one can see that, he lost all his position day by day. Our great Baba have been misguided by vested interested for their selfish interest.
Every single Naga may wonder as to how and why NSCN (Reformation) came into being and still some people misconstrued it as new faction. However, the fact is,the formation of NSCN(Reformation) is inevitable at that point of time where all NSCN workers have been thrown into the hands of Indian Security forces with no hope after unilateral abrogation of CF by Chairman Khaplang without wide consultation.
Even I have been felled into the hands of Indian army on 26th March 2015 while travelling in Assam towards Chumukidima (Dimapur) to attend ceasefire meeting fixed on 27th March 2015. It is nothing but an act of betrayal. Under such situation it becomes the duty of each workers to defend themselves by converting from NSCN(K) to NSCN(R) to uphold existing ceasefire, to continue their effort towards Naga reconciliation, to search acceptable and honourable solution as desire by the Naga people.
The Naga people are democratic in nature and hence, one man decision cannot be acceptable in any manner and abrogation of ceasefire is his personal decision and one man action. Therefore, it is not our choice to form NSCN (Reformation) but the prevailing situation necessitated its formation by majority voice of NSCN workers mostly from India side.
The main objective of NSCN (Reformation) is to encourage Naga Reconciliation and unconditional unity of all the Naga political groups. Hence, the NSCN (R) becomes friend to all NPGs and ready to share all pains, distresses and happiness with Naga people. It will have equal love and concern for Baba Khaplang who maintains similar ceasefire and political process with union of Myanmar.
I therefore humbly appeal to all Naga publics and Naga national workers to abandon the path of violence and fratricidal, rather let us jointly shock the World by putting maximum efforts to create new Nagaland full of peace and love.
