Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): A book titled ‘Kumgha: Blessing,’ written by Inaholi Asumi, was formally released by Rev. Suhuto N Chishi, youth secretary of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) in Pughoboto town on December 10.
The book release event was part of the 75th anniversary of the Youth Ministry of Sumi Aphuyemi Baptist Akukuhou (SABAK), an update from PenThrill Publication House stated.
It mentioned that the author had dedicated the book to her late grandfather Rev. SA Shihoto, founder of the Christian Endeavour (youth) as it was known in 1947. ‘Kumgha: Blessing’ is the second book written by Inaholi Asumi and the 65th publication of PenThrill Publication House.
In her author’s note, Inaholi stated that the compilation mostly grew from her personal devotions and sermons she had heard and the books she had read. She expressed hope that the readers would be blessed from reading the book as much as she was blessed by writing it.
In her publisher’s note, Vishü Rita Krocha recalled how the author’s first book ‘Akupu- The bridge, a flower’ was well received and sold over 1000 copies within a week of its release. She expressed optimism that the newly released book would reach even more readers.
She further urged the gathering to support the growing breed of writers saying, “Writers will go on to preserve the rich legacy and stories of our land.” Further impressing upon the need to develop the culture of reading, she said, “Even if you did not have personal encounters with books in your childhood, it is still not too late to start.”
Rev. Suhuto N Chishi dedicated the book with a prayer.
