Minister CL John launches book titled ‘Earth Keepers’ in Mon town.

DIMAPUR — As part of the Wildlife Week 2025 celebration, a children’s storybook titled ‘Earth Keepers’ was launched at the Konyak Union Hall in Mon Town on October 7.
The book, written by Florence T Sangtam, Forest Ranger, and published by 6th Finger Publishers, was officially released by CL John, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Village Guards.
According to an update, Earth Keepers invites young readers to embark on an enchanting journey through the lush hills and vibrant cultures of Nagaland. “The book beautifully weaves together stories inspired by the seventeen tribes of Nagaland, each tale highlighting the unique customs, values, and traditional wisdom that define their deep connection with nature,” it stated.

Through its captivating narratives, Earth Keepers encourages children to embrace values of unity, kindness, respect for nature, and community strength. Each story features a child protagonist who embodies the spirit of environmental stewardship — inspiring young minds to become true guardians of the Earth.
“The launch of Earth Keepers not only marked a literary milestone but also reaffirmed Nagaland’s ongoing commitment to nurturing environmental consciousness among the next generation,” the update stated.
