Kohima, Feb. 25 (EMN): The 9th Kohima Town assembly constituency sports meet of NDPP concluded at D-khel ground, Seikhazou in Kohima village on Friday.
The sports meet featured volleyball for women and football for men.
In football, Ward - 14 (Poterlane) defeated Ward - 12 (Upper Chandmari) By 3 - 1 to emerge as the champion in the final. Ward - 14 (Poterlane) entered the final defeating Ward - 17 'B' (Electrical/Forest/Agri-Farm/ Mewibogei) with the score line 6 - 2 in the first semi-final match.
On road to the final, Ward - 12 (Upper Chandmari) defeated Ward - 16 'A' (Lerie Chazou/ New Ministers Hill) with a score of 2 - 0.
In women's volleyball final, Ward - 6 (D - Block) emerged victorious after defeating Ward - 16 (New Reserve) in the final.
The four-day sports meet was hosted by Neikiesalie Kire, advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, wherein, youths from different wards competed in football (men) and volleyball (women) for championship titles.
