DIMAPUR — Dimapur came alive on Friday night as the 8th edition of Tokhu Nite, organised by the Kyong Nchumchio Okho (KNO), transformed the State Stadium into a vibrant hub of music, culture, and celebration.
Speaking on the occasion as special guest, Dimapur District Auto Drivers Union (DDADU) President, Tito Yeptho, reminded the gathering that Tokhu Emong is a time to forgive past differences and to strengthen the bonds of unity and friendship within the community.
Yeptho urged the youth to remain rooted in their traditions and customs, while emphasising that cultural identity and values form the foundation of a strong and harmonious society.
Delivering the Tokhu greeting, Dimapur Lotha Hoho Chairman, Thungchanthung Murry, extended festive wishes to the community and highlighted the significance of the festival as a time for forgiveness and unity. He also acknowledged the KNO for its contributions towards community welfare and promoting social harmony.
Murry also underscored the importance of preserving and showcasing traditional attires as an expression of cultural pride.
Welcome address was delivered by KNO Chairman, Mhademo Kithan.
The celebration reached its peak with an entertainment segment that featured stellar performances from local talents including Eyilobeni Kikon, Benchumi Ezung, Abemo Lotha, Chijano Ngullie, Sendeno, and Mhonchumi. The night also saw electrifying performances by FDN Band, Azero, The Finalist Band, and Struggler Boys, who kept the audience enthralled with their dynamic acts.
