DIMAPUR — The Spear Corps of the Indian Army organised an Ex-Servicemen Rally 2026 at Karong Ground in Senapati, Manipur, on Friday, bringing together veterans of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles along with their families.
According to a press release, the rally was attended by 850 participants, including 325 Army ex-servicemen and 230 Assam Rifles ex-servicemen. The gathering also included 153 widows and 142 dependents, among them 13 Veer Naris and two Veer Mata.
Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps, attended the event as chief guest. Major General Shubhankar Basu, General Officer Commanding Red Shield Division, was also present.

The rally, themed “Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future,” served as an outreach platform to address grievances and provide information on welfare and administrative services for veterans and their families. The programme included interaction sessions with senior officers, awareness briefings on welfare schemes, cultural performances by Manipuri artists and felicitation of distinguished veterans and Veer Naris.
Facilities such as grievance redressal cells, a medical camp, SPARSH and ECHS assistance counters, Rajya and Zila Sainik Board desks, PCDA (Guwahati), ARO support and CSD services were made available. Assistance was also provided by banks including State Bank of India, HDFC Bank and IDBI Bank.
