Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): NPF party rank and file of 8 Western Angami Assembly Constituency has taken strong exception to the alleged ‘callous and insensitive’ comment of the State home minister, Y Patton, at the Lao Ong Mo festival of the Konyak Nagas in Mon on September 29, who reportedly mentioned about the demise of its leader Kiyanilie Peseyie and exuded confidence of emerging successful in the ensuing general elections.
The unit, in a press release issued by its president Votso Peseyie, expressed dismay that Patton seemed to have derived confidence, satisfaction and happiness at the demise of its beloved leader.
“It is unacceptable, intolerable and unforgivable that someone should strut around deriving satisfaction at the death of another, and that too, at the demise of such a towering figure as our late leader Kiyanilie Peseyie,” the statement stated.
Since the statement was made in the presence of the chief minister, TR Zeliang, the unit demanded the latter to direct the home minister tender a public apology to the bereaved family members and near and dear ones of late Kiyanilie Peseyie or the chief minister himself apologise publicly on behalf of his home minister.
