Kohima Hornbill-B, Street Boys Wokha and Sparks CC Dimapur registered win and moved to quarter final after defeating their respective rivals on Monday matches during the ongoing 7th edition of Silver Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament organized by the Nepali Baptist Church Kohima Youth Department on the theme ‘Peace and unity through cricket’ at Jakhama Ground.
In the first match played between Kohima Hornbill-B and Sechu Zubza Students’ Union, Sechu Zubza won the toss and decided to field. Kohima Hornbill scored 200 runs at 18 overs with the loss of 2 wickets (in 18 overs match). Kohima Hornbill –B won the match by 68 runs. Anga of Kohima Hornbill –B was declared man of the match for scoring 111 runs not out. Nobin also scored 51 runs for his team. Sechu Zubza Aja scored 5o runs Vinod scored 42 runs not out.
In the second match, Street Boys and United CC played; United CC won the toss and decided to bat. United CC was all out at 19.5 overs scoring 98 runs. Ruchenlo and Zuchobemo took 2 wickets each for their team United CC. For street Boys Wokha chasing the target of 99 runs and managed to achieve the target in just 13 overs losing 4 wickets. Mhonyamo of Street Boys was declared man of the match for scoring 29 runs not out.
In the third match played between Hindu temple CC Kohima and Sparks CC Dimapur where Sparks CC won the toss and decided to bat first. Sparks CC scored 161 runs in 20 overs at the loss of 7 wickets. Toni and Dipangkar contributed 47 runs and 40 runs respective for their team Sparks CC. Satyajit of Hindu temple CC took 3 wickets for his team. Hindu temple chasing the target was bowled out at 18.5 overs scoring only 89 runs. Rakesh of Hindu temple scored 39 runs for his team and Jiten of Sparks CC took 3 wickets. Toni Chishi of Sparks CC was declared man of the match for scoring 47 runs for his team.
