the 39th raising day celebration of 7th NAP battalion in Bhandari on April 1.
- DIMAPUR — The 7th
NAP battalion observed its 39th raising day at the battalion headquarters in
Bhandari under Wokha district on April 1.
- Speaking at the programme, the commandant of 7th NAP Bn,
Aotula T Imchen, stated that 39 years is a long time for the battalion and
encouraged all rank and file to continue to inspire, to serve with dignity and
discipline and to lead with maturity for others to follow good example.
- During the raising day celebration, proficiency in arms
handling was demonstrated by Lance Naik Wobenthung Kikon and Constable
Longshithung Yanthan.
- A DIPR report stated that sports day was also conducted on
March 29 and 31 in which all companies of the battalion participated.
- In volleyball, D Coy emerged champions over the
administrative Coy, while in carrom B Coy defeated C Coy in the final games.
- In the tug-of-war, D Coy defeated Administration Coy and in
drill competition A Coy and E Coy emerged as first and second winners
respectively.
- In the closing ceremony, Sunep Lemtur and Havildar Etongbemo
Kithan entertained the crowd with song presentations.
- The celebration programme was chaired by assistant
commandant, 7th NAP Bhandari, Ngimchule Nampeung.
