IMPHAL, June 28: The Seventh Dr Thingnam Kishan Memorial Lecture was held on Tuesday at Youth Hostel hall at Khuman Lampak with a lecture by Prof Nahakpam Aruna of Manipuri department, Manipur University on ‘Manipuri Khorirolda Nupina Khorjei Pairakpada’ (Women writers in Manipuri literature).
The memorial lecture was held under the chairmanship of Critic Forum Director Audio Visual Research Centre Manipur University Prof Lokendra Arambam while Assistant Professor Lilong Haireibi College Dr Wahengbam Kumari Chanu and Literary critic Dr Longjam Sangita Devi also participated in the discussion.
The lecture programme that was organized by Dr Thingnam Kishan Foundation, was attended by family members of the Dr Kishan,relatives, friends,well wishers, academicians, film makers, journalists and civil society organization leaders.
The event marks the birth anniversary of Dr Th Kishan, who was SDO, Kasom Khullen sub-division in Ukhrul district before he and two of his sub-ordinate staff members were slain by activists of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (IM) in February 2009.
