Dimapur, Jan. 4 (EMN): The 78 battalion of CRPF located in Zubza under Kohima district, in collaboration with Sechü Zubza football club, has announced to organise a block level football tournament for men (junior group) and block level volleyball for men (senior group) on January 17 and 18.
The tournament is being organised as part of civic action programme to bridge the gap between the public and security forces, a press release from the battalion stated.
The release stated that Sarbjit Singh, DIGP (OPS) CRPF, Kohima, and the chief guest, would inaugurate the tournament at WAPO Ground, Sechü Zubza, on January 17 at 9 am. The closing ceremony would be held on January 18 at 4 pm followed by the distribution of sports item to the participating teams.
Since its induction in Nagaland, 78 battalion of the CRPF has been organising such programmes every year with the civilian public to share their grievances and to provide the basic amenities. The commandant has expressed pleasure in organising the civic action programme in WAPO ground at Sechü Zubza village. He has invited interested personnel of Sechü Zubza block to grace the tournament.
