Dimapur, May 2 (EMN): The monitoring and evaluation division of National Vector Borne Diseases Control, Director General of Health Service, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in a monthly malaria situation report showed a 75.3% decline in total positive cases (TPC) in Nagaland up to December 2021 as compared to the cumulative average of the last three years.
The report also showed a 54.7% decrease in blood slide examination (BSE) up to December 2021.
The total positive rate (TPR) was 0.02 up to December 2021 as compared to 0.02 for last three years average and there was 70% decrease in Plasmodium Falciparum (PF) cases as compared to last three years average.
Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, and Mokokchung districts in Nagaland have seen a decrease in surveillance, it stated.
The monthly malaria situation information report of December 2021 were for the states of Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Tamil Naidu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and West Bengal.
Combined surveillance information of malaria for the 11 states revealed that there was a decline of BSE by 6.3% upto December 2021.
There was 43.8% decline in TPC and TPR was 0.10% upto December 2021 as compared to 0.16% for last three years average
There was 2.7% decrease in PF cases upto December 2021 as compared to last three years average.
