Dimapur, Dec. 9 : Altogether 70 persons including 40 for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving and 30 persons in Hospitality received certificates for successful completion of their training at Pinnacle Skills Dimapur under Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA) at a valedictory function held at Fair View Apartment, Khermahal, Dimapur.
Addressing the valedictory function, special guest and secretary of DUDA, Senti Ao, reminded the trainees that they were among the fortunate ones to have received training under DUDA.
Stating that DUDA is working towards socio, economic and infrastructure progress, Senti Ao called on the trained drivers to imbibe politeness and driving discipline in their daily activity. He also called on the hospitality trainees to uphold their morality with them wherever they may serve and ‘not sell their character’ while persuading them to move out of the state to explore and experience the work culture of industries.
Reiterating DUDA’s commitment in working towards the interest of Eastern and border areas, he called on the trainees to grab opportunities available and work with sincerity.
Dr. Yan Murry, Chief Executive of Pinnacle Skills, giving an overview of training, remarked that response from boys have always been encouraging. He said Pinnacle Skills in partnership with National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) could achieve 100% placement in the second year.
He reminded the trainees that the certificates which they have earned are not plain certificate but an opportunity for employment which is available in Nagaland which they have to deliver by doing justice to their earned certificates. The LMV driving trainees not only received basic driving training but were also given guidance on traffic regulation by the Dimapur traffic police.
Thepfuzakie Angami, Project Officer (BADP) DUDA, said a total of 243 persons from Indo-Myanmar border villages have availed various trainings under BADP 2015-16 capacity building/skill development programmes since the inception of DUDA under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) in 2003 till date.
From 2017-18 under the BADP capacity building/skill development programme, the department is planning to give special emphasis on livelihood for farmers of Indo-Myanmar border block villages with an objective to improve the socio-economic condition of the most interior international border area villagers.
The programme was chaired by Anden Konyak, Director DUDA, while the vote of thanks was rendered by Thepfuzakie Angami, Project Officer (BADP) DUDA.
