Dimapur, Oct. 20 (EMN): A person’s investment in his life’s stages is composed of about 20% of school life, about 10% of college life and a huge 70% of work life. This is the reason why people need to be sure about what they choose to do in life and that they need to spend more time in discovering and developing skills to achieve success, participants at a seminar about entrepreneurship in Medziphema were told by resource persons.
A seminar about entrepreneurship was organised by the School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development on October 19 at the SFS higher secondary school and at the govt. higher secondary at Medziphema, in Dimapur.
A press release from the organisers that was issued on Sunday to the media stated that Anini Nyenga, a project manager at YouthNet was the resource person for the event.
The session began with an “entertaining yet motivational activity” which was followed by a very responsive session from the student participants. The topics that were covered during the session included the “real definition” of an entrepreneur, and the components of entrepreneurship.
The ‘components of entrepreneurship which the press release asserted includes “heart that gives the drive, head which leads us to ideas, hands with which we work and home which includes the people that support us as a team.”
Further, Nyenga was stated to have emphasised on “personal characteristics, interpersonal skills, critical and creative skills and practical skills.” She spoke about “the life years invested in different stages” that include school life (20%), college life (10%) and our work life (70%).
‘This means that we have to be very sure about what we choose to do in our life and that one should spend more time in discovering and developing ones skills which is the only true definition of success, being able to discover ourselves and perform to our full potential,’ the gathering was told.
Nyenga challenged the students to keep their minds active, to “start thinking and come up with ideas because great ideas don’t just happen but it comes from our own simple ideas and to think beyond govt. jobs because the future belongs to the entrepreneurs.”
The session concluded with a motivational video of an ordinary person who started “from trash” to becoming a “very successful entrepreneur,” the press release stated.
At the SFS higher secondary school in Medziphema, Dr. Sentirenla Changkiri, project assistant, gave an introduction about the programme, among others, the updates stated.
