WOKHA — A
seven-year-old boy drowned at the Doyang Reservoir, Wokha, while playing
football with friends in the adjoining reservoir belt area near the Doyang Ice
Plant, on February 2 around 2 pm.
According to sources, the deceased reportedly volunteered to
fetch the ball, which rolled down while they were playing.
When the boy was nowhere to be found in the vicinity, his
friends informed the victim's father, who then reported the incident to the
State Disaster Response Force.
The SDRF, along with the National Disaster Response Force
(NDRF) and the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) team, used
a water drone and divers, and recovered body on Monday at around 3 pm.
