
DIMAPUR — The State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) organised a valedictory programme for the 6th batch training on Rural Development Foundation Course 2024 at SIRD conference hall, Kohima on July 11.
Addressing the valedictory programme, Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Kevise Kense, congratulated the department officials who successfully completed the foundation course and urged the officials to be more committed and sincere towards their assigned duties for the uplift of rural populace, a DIPR report stated.
He lauded the officers for taking the department forward in infrastructural development and assured all possible support for more up skilling programmes for department officials and upgrade of infrastructural development in future.
Kense also gave away the certificates to meritorious and successful candidates on completion of the foundation course.
Course Director and Principal, ETC Phek, Dr. Kedise Pucho reviewed the training course and highlighted the details of foundation course that the 29 selected block officials underwent, encompassing related subjects in all the allied departments including legal matters during the three-month training course.
Director, Rural Development, K Inazhe Phuleshe encouraged the officers to be active and responsible. Jt. Director, SIRD, Dr. Adino Vitso gave a PowerPoint presentation on the activities of the SIRD department and a brief report on field visit was also given by the trainees (block officials) from different groups.
Earlier, Director of SIRD, Vesato gave the welcome address while vote of thanks was proposed by Additional Director, SIRD, Imlimenla Longkumer. Dr. Rokosuno Kintso, senior lecturer and course coordinator, chaired the programme.
