The multi-skilled training also focused on training of trainer (ToT) module where exams were conducted on various modules to assess the proficiency of the trained workers. Test modules, in the form of interactive learning panels, were also handed over to the respective district administration while trainers, two each from every location, were trained extensively in Kohima for a period of three months prior to commencement of the training.
The training of trainers (ToT) programme empowered every district to conduct further training independently.
It stated that the strategy of proficiency test and skill assessment would help to segregate the skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers at district level, thus helping the administration and department of Labour to regulate the rates of workers in the construction sector.
