Dimapur, Jan 24: The College 5th sports meet of C-Edge kicked off today with the theme “One Team, One Dream”.
C. Tinu Pongen, Retired Badminton Coach for Nagaland State & Former International Referee was the Special Guest to grace the opening day. In his short speech, he urged the students to stay dedicated and to play wholeheartedly.
A press note issued by the institute details that a short introduction was given by Aloli H Kinny, Assistant Professor & former member of the College Sports Committee followed by a welcome speech by President of the College, Er. Moa Aier. To keep the spirit of team work and sportsmanship, an oath of Pledge was presided by the Games and Sports Secretary, Hantsukiu Yimchunger, BA VI Semester while the Sports Discipline was read out by the Games and Sports Convener, Imsuakum Longkumer, Assistant Professor.
One of the special additions of this year’s Sports Meet is the introduction of five different Naga traditional games as part of competitive sports, stated the release.
The meet is said to have kicked off with two Doubles Badminton Exhibition match among the special guest, the President, the faculty and two students of the college.
