5867 persons in Zunheboto receive Covid vaccine

Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): A total of 5867 persons in Zunheboto district have received the Covid-19 vaccination till date. It included 736 healthcare workers, 1798 frontline workers, 2,148 persons between 45 and 59 years and 1,185 persons above the age of 60 years.

This was disclosed by Dr. M Nungshisangla Jamir, while presenting the Covid-19 vaccination status of the district, during the monthly meeting of the Zunheboto district planning and development board (DPDB) held on April 15 under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner and DPDB vice chairman, Peter Lichamo in his office’s conference hall, a DIPR report stated.

She added that Tikka Utsav (Covid vaccination mela) was also organised from April 11 to the 14th at Zunheboto headquarters, Pughoboto CHC, Suruhuto PHC, Akuluto PHC, Satakha CHC and Atoizu PHC, church premises and Covid vaccination centres.

Even though the state government has not issued any directive to kick start Covid immunisation activities at sub-centres/ village level, she also stated that the department had conducted activities at Phuye old, Phuye new, Tichipami and Sapotomi villages during the mela in compliance to request by those village councils.

Also speaking at the meeting, the Zunheboto Superintendent of Police, T Uniel Kichu, informed that any person found without wearing a mask would be penalised with a fine of INR 100 and INR 500 for shops, hotels etc. without hand sanitizer.

Report also stated that the house has approved to set up a public park at Lizu Naghuto and agreed to take up the issue with the higher authority. The house also agreed to construct a town council at Akuluto town and decided to send the proposal to the government for approval.

DPO Vikugha Sema made a powerpoint presentation on the activities of the Land Resources department. He informed that 98 villages have been covered under micro village watershed till date. He added that under micro enterprise, 28 carpentry materials, three blacksmith materials, one salon material, one sewing machine, one weaving material and brass cutter materials were provided to the beneficiaries.
