Z Nyusietho Nyuthe during the opening ceremony of SRSA 57th
meet at Chizami on Friday.
- KOHIMA — The
weeklong 57th sports meet of Secheku Range Sports Association (SRSA) on the
theme ‘Dare to dream, courage to achieve,” got underway at Chizami, Phek
district, with Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, Advisor of NRE & NSDMA, as the special
guest for the inaugural ceremony.
- Addressing the gathering, Nyuthe maintained that sports
promote peace and unity in the society.
- He called upon the affiliated units of SRSA to build better
relationship and spread the message of peace and unity for social well-being.
- The advisor also challenged the sports lovers to maintain
consistency to attain proficiency.
- “Do it consistently in anything with endurance and
determination,” he said, while reminding that there is no shortcut to success
in any field.
- He also said that the state government under the leadership
of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is ready to help and promote sports in the state.
- Earlier, SRSA president, Pute Doulo, delivered the
presidential address and Chizami Village Council chairman, Kewepelo Tsuhah
delivered welcome address.
- The meet will conclude on January 24 with Roko Angami, OSD
(Sports), Youth Resources and Sports, and former international football player
as guest of honour.
