KOHIMA, JANUARY 18
The 57th wrestling meet of the Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) will commence on January 19 at Kohima Local Ground. A total of 60 wrestlers will be vying for the ultimate title in Naga wrestling.
The winner of the championship will fetch a cash award of Rs. 70,000, sponsored by Oking Hospital Welfare Society, while the 1st runner-up will walk home richer with Rs. 50,000, sponsored by Khrie-ü Kuotsu, Class-1 Contractor.
The third and fourth position winners will also receive Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively, sponsored by Mhalelie Rio, Class-1 Contractor and Kuolie Mere, P.R.O. Nagaland House, New Delhi.
The losing quarter finalists will be given Rs. 2,000 each, while Rs. 10,000 has been set aside for the group champions in Naga wrestling.
The inaugural function on Tuesday would be graced by Deo Nukhu, Parliamentary Secretary for Higher & Technical Education, as the chief guest.
Highlight of the programme includes invocation by Letuolie Pienyü, asst. pastor, Christian Revival Church, Pezieliecie, welcome address by Neiketouzo Kenguruse, president, NASA, greetings by Vilieo Rutsa, president, Northern Angami Public Organisation, song by Cultural Vibrant.
The oath of administration would be led by Khrievolie Lhoungu, wrestling secretary, NASA, while Vilakuolie Mere will be the host of the inaugural function.
The chief judge for the two day meet is Rükhietuolie Liezietsu, while Visasielie Suohu, Rükravolie Rülho and Thepfükhrietuo Rüpreo would be the announcers.
The referees are Neibu Rio, Luozolie Semou, Seyiekhrietuo Kesitsu and Kezhalelie Keretsü, while teh judges are Jüsahie, Sopfünuo, Pfuzolie Kense, Thepfurüsa Talie, Tsizo Kire, Keneizhalie Kire, Neiziengulie Rame, Miachühie Solezou and Neikhrielie Lousi.
The recorders are Kezhagulie Kire, Vilakuolie Yashü, Khriezovolie Miachieo and Keneilhoulie Theünuo, while the timekeepers are Keduophilie Rüpreo, Zhapuneituo Zhale, Kevidelie Solo and Neivotsolie Kezieo.
The runners will be representatives from Nerhema Baptist Church, while CMO, Kohima, will take care of first aid.
The closing function on Thursday would be graced by F.P. Solo, commissioner & Secretary, School Education & SCERT, as the guest of honour. Day-two will witness free style wrestling, and for this, the winners and 1st runner-up of every category will receive Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000 each.
