56th CCSA session underway at Sakraba town

DIMAPUR — The 56th session of the Centre Chakesang Sports Association (CCSA) commenced on Monday at Sakraba town, Phek district, on the theme ‘Empowering youth through sports.’
According to an update, the opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye as the inaugural guest.
The programme began with unfurling of the Centre Chakesang Sports Association flag by the inaugural guest, and lightning of torch by “individual champions” Mutsizo Lohe of Middle Khomi village and Nuculu Dzudo of Proba village.
In his address, the minister highlighted how sports have improved and changed over the years and that at present, there are so much opportunities in to live a dignified live if one can excel in respective games and sports.
Kenye also warned about the dangers of limitless festivities and social gatherings among the Nagas, which result in waste of time and loss of resources.
Stating that “this trend among the Nagas has become a burden to all of us,” he also encouraged the youths to be diligent in any sports discipline and play in true sportsmanship spirit.
The inaugural programme chaired by Vesuto D Vadeo, vice president of CCSA, and Kuduto Dazo, pastor of Sakraba Baptist Church, invoked God’s blessings.
Veposu Nienu, president of CCSA, delivered the presidential address, while Shepo Dzudo, president of CCPO, conveyed greetings.
The 56th general session is hosted by the Sakraba Youth Organisation, coinciding with the organisation’s 50th youth jubilee. The sporting meet will continue till January 25.
