
Officials from the Drugs Control Administration, district
administration, police, Watsu Mungdang, and Ao Kaketshir Mundang during the
exercise related to the shutdown of pharmacies in Mokokchung on April 3.
- DIMAPUR — As part of a regulatory enforcement
drive, 54 pharmacies operating within Mokokchung town were shut down from April
3 to the 5th for non-compliance with provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics
Rules, 1945, and the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
- According to an update, the shutdown was in pursuance of the
cancellation order issued against pharmacies by the Controlling and Licensing
Authority, Drugs Control Administration, Department of Health and Family
Welfare, for failing to comply with several public notices issued by the Drugs
Control Administration by not employing a registered pharmacist, thus violating
Rule 65(2) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945, and Section 42 of the
Pharmacy Act, 1948.
- It was mentioned that the Drugs Control Officer, Mokokchung,
with the support of the district administration, police, Watsu Mungdang, and Ao
Kaketshir Mundang, had undertaken the exercise.
- The Drugs Control Administration acknowledged the support
rendered by departments and civil organisations.
