Kohima, June 8 (EMN): Realising that cold weather doesn’t deter people from having ice-cream, Aden & Anuo decided to launch 51 Rainbow Ice-Cream outlet at Razhü Point in Kohima. The desert parlour was inaugurated by Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Administrator Kovi Meyase on June 7.
Aden & Anuo owns Kohima-based hospitality brand called Aurora that is into lodging, restaurant and cafe.
At the café, a lot of youngsters look for ice cream regardless of cold weather and having sensing that, the idea of an ice-cream parlour was conceived, Anuo said, adding that 51 Rainbow Ice-Cream was chosen ‘because it has a speciality of preparing ice-cream on spot.’ She went on to say that major challenges are irregularity of electricity and transportation; otherwise all else is fine.
“We want to employ our Naga boys and girls and give them employment opportunity,” Anuo said, but lamented that it is difficult to find Naga youths who are “committed” and “consistent,” particularly when it comes to long-term services. “They are always looking for better jobs,” she said.
Presently, Aurora employs 31 youths, she informed.
The 51 Rainbow Ice-Cream outlet in Kohima is one of the 60 outlets in India. The ice-cream items ranges from thick shake, live fog and roll ice creams, freakshake, faluda, smoothies, super sundae etc.
