5 NSCN-K militants arrested in Manipur

NNN IMPHAL, March 8 Security forces have arrested five NSCN-K militants along with some weapons during counter-insurgency operation conducted in Jiribam subdivision of Imphal East on Monday. Reports said they have been handed over to Jiribam Police Station for further investigation. A team of 27 Assam Rifles carried out the operation in an area adjacent to Lamkhai bazaar and Hilgat and apprehended the NSCN-K militants at about 1:30 pm. The Government of India recently declared NSCN-K, all its frontal organisations and formations as a terrorist organisation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
