Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): The 5-day long children’s film festival which started on Oct. 9 successfully culminated on Saturday with the screening of four films at the closing fest at the state academy hall, Kohima.
The children’s film fest, which was organised under the motto, ‘promoting every child’s right to entertainment’, targeted students of Class - V to XII from in and around Kohima and saw an encouraging response with more than a thousand children turning up to watch the screening of different categories of films - documentaries, animations and short movies.
During the whole fest, nine motivational, thought-provoking and entertaining flims films were screened for the children to not only enjoy but also to inspire them to delve into the real world conflicts around them. The movies screened on the closing day were: ‘Nani Teri Morni’ directed by Akash Aditya Lama, based on the true story of a young Naga girl, Mhonbeni Ezung, who is a national bravery award winner and who saved her drowning grandmother from a river. ‘Pinti Ka Sabun’ directed by Pramod Pathak which won the best children film award in Lonavala International Festival of Film & Television India (LIFF). ‘Gilli Gilli Atta’ directed by Pankaj Parashar; and ‘Karamati Coat’ directed by Ajay Karthik.
Children Film Society of India (CFSI), a nodal organizations of the Government of India that produces children’s films and television programmes in various Indian languages had promoted the films which provide healthy and wholesome entertainment for children, the DIPR stated.
The festival was organised in collaboration with the departments of social welfare, art and culture, youth resource and sports, school education and information and public relations, government of Nagaland.
