The 4th Northeast Indigenous Music Festival is scheduled to take place on Oct.7, 2017, 5:30 PM at IMC hall Dimapur, informed a press note from the event manager.
Eight strong renowned artistes and bands from the region are lined up to perform. They are Summersalt (a folk fusion band from Meghalaya who has featured in the Bollywood film Rock On 2), Jambili (a folk fusion band from Assam), Imphal Talkies (a six member folk rock band from Manipur), Atso Chasie (first prize winner at National Classical Guitar Competition ‘AXE POWER 2013’ ) will be performing with Choseo Tetseo, Ragamuffins (a folk fusion band from Assam), and Jano Nyeka from Nagaland, who’s own original song ‘Aahoh’ won the award for the Best Folk Fusion at India’s Indie Awards, the Radio City FM Freedom Awards 2017. Vania Chawang & The Band from Dimapur, and Abiogenesis (the folk fusion band from Nagaland, which is the only band in Nagaland to have received the Governors award for distinction in folk fusion music). Sholo Thong (front man of Gluttones) will be the host for the event.
A workshop and interaction for the North East Artistes will be held on Oct.6, 2017 from 2 PM at Abiogenesis Centre, Nuton Bosti.
The festival is being organised by Abiogenesis Society with support from North East Council,
Ministry of DoNER, Shillong, Artist Aloud as digital promotion partner, Asian News International (ANI) as the international broadcast channel, and Doordarshan Kohima Kendra for live recording telecast.
