4th Inter-Ward League begins in Tening town

DIMAPUR — The 4th Inter-Ward League, organised by the Tening Town Youth Organisation (TTYO), commenced at the local ground in Tening, Peren district, on Monday.

According to a DIPR report, TTYO president Bakam, while addressing the gathering, said the event is being held on the theme “reduce, reuse, recycle”, emphasising both grassroots sports promotion and environmental responsibility.

“As we promote grassroots football, we also take a stand for our environment. We have taken small but meaningful steps today,” he stated.

The week-long league will feature both football and volleyball competitions and will culminate on October 4.

The inaugural programme was attended by ADC Tening K Furhesie Nyuwi, while the keynote address was delivered by TTYO president Bakam.
