DIMAPUR — The 25th anniversary edition of the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy, one of Nagaland’s most prestigious football tournaments, is set to commence on September 13 at 4:30 pm from the Indira Gandhi (IG) Stadium, Kohima.
Jointly organised by the Naga Students' Federation and the Angami Students' Union, the opening ceremony will be attended by Metsubo Jamir, Minister of Rural Development and State Institute of Rural Development, as the inaugural guest, stated an update.
This year’s tournament marks 39 years of honouring the memory of Lt. Kekuojalie Sachü and Lt. Vikhozo Yhoshü, who tragically lost their lives during a peaceful rally on March 20, 1986, in Kohima.

A total of 45 teams will compete for the coveted championship title—one team from Delhi, one team from Sikkim, seven teams from Manipur, and 36 teams from Nagaland.
Among the teams from Nagaland, former champions Tangkhul Katamnao Satlong, Nagaland Police, Red Scars, New Market FC, and Sechü Zubza FC will be participating, as well as the Nagaland Super League runners-up, the Nagaland United Sports Club.
The tournament will feature live streaming provided by IT partner BingeBOXX OTT and Dox Marketing and Media. The coverage will span both the IG Stadium, Kohima, and the Chümoukedima Football Stadium, right up to the grand finale.
