Girl athletes compete on the opening day of the 44th Greenwood School sports meet on Wednesday.


DIMAPUR — The 44th Greenwood School Sports meet – 2025 kicked off on Wednesday at the school ground, Kuda village, Dimapur, with former Advocate General Nagaland, P Pius Lotha, as the chief guest of the inaugural programme.


After hoisting the school flag, Pius Lotha, in his address, greeted the Greenwood School students and praised them for their discipline, reminding them that to excel in life, a person must be disciplined, an update stated.


He acknowledged the school's performance in games and sports, stating that it had made its mark at both state and national levels. He credited the school administration for grooming the students to achieve their goals.


Piu also said that education is about the all-round development of a child and urged the students to be honest and diligent in their work. He advised them to believe in God so that they could succeed in life.

The chief guest then declared the sports meet open


The march past was presented by the four houses, comprising students from the intermediate, high school, and primary blocks, led by parade commander Dolim Somba. Kechi Kulimber, coach of Greenwood School Khelo India Football, administered the oath-taking ceremony.


Director of Greenwood School, Asito Peseyie, felicitated the outstanding achievers in various categories of games and sports, and exhorted the students to continue to strive for excellence.


Earlier, welcome address was given by Theja Khate, Assistant Director of Greenwood School, and invocation prayer pronounced by Ketusilie Sakhrie, Director (Missions & Evangelism).
